Where can your recipient cash out USDC?
Samsung charges nothing to send USDC to an outside wallet. The real cost moves to the other end: your recipient's exchange charges to turn USDC into pesos. Here is what we found (checked October 27, 2026).
| Country / exchange | USDC on Solana | USDC on Sui | Sell USDC | Withdraw to bank | Est. total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Philippines · Coins.ph BSP-regulated. Free crypto deposits (min 0.01 USDC on Solana). | Yes | Not listed | Spot 0.10% maker / 0.15% taker (entry tier). "Convert" uses its own rate. | PESONet free (individual), InstaPay ₱5 | ~0.3–0.5% |
| Philippines · PDAX BSP-supervised. | Yes | Not listed | Shown in app | InstaPay ₱15 (max ₱50,000), PESONet ₱10 | check in app |
| Mexico · Bitso Free USDC deposits on Solana, Base, Stellar and more. | Yes | Not listed | MXN markets 0.60% maker / 0.78% taker (under 20,000 MXN monthly volume) | SPEI free | ~0.8–1.0% |
"Est. total" adds the trading fee, a small spread allowance and the bank withdrawal fee on a $1,000 transfer. It is our estimate, not a quote.
What is Samsung Wallet USDC?
Samsung began switching on USDC in Samsung Wallet for eligible U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October 2026. You can hold and send USDC, a U.S. dollar stablecoin, without a separate crypto app or private keys. Transfers require biometric authentication on your registered device.
- Who: U.S. residents aged 18+ with an eligible Galaxy device (about 82 million compatible devices; that is hardware, not active users).
- Networks: Solana and Sui. Samsung has not said how the network is chosen for each transfer.
- Custody: Bastion, with Coinbase as sub-custodian (Coinbase Prime Vault).
- Funding: through integrated on- and off-ramps in the app. Exact funding methods and limits: confirm in app
- Two ways to send: (1) USDC to a compatible crypto wallet or exchange: no Samsung fee. (2) Local currency to a bank account in 60+ countries: fees apply, depending on country and amount, shown before you confirm.
How to send USDC with Samsung Wallet (step by step)
- Update Samsung Wallet on your Galaxy phone and open it.
- Tap Buy Stablecoin. USDC appears as the default dollar stablecoin. Funding method: confirm in app
- Choose Send, then pick a recipient: a crypto wallet address or a bank account.
- For a wallet address, ask your recipient which network their exchange accepts (usually Solana for Coins.ph, PDAX and Bitso) and make sure it matches.
- Review fees and estimated delivery time, then confirm with your fingerprint or face.

When Samsung Wallet wins, and when it doesn't
Use Samsung Wallet when
- The recipient already has an account at an exchange such as Coins.ph, PDAX or Bitso.
- You send to a corridor where transfer apps carry a wide markup (on Oct 27, Western Union to the Philippines was about 2.6% above the mid-market rate).
- You want 24/7 transfers that arrive in seconds.
Use a money transfer app when
- The recipient needs cash pickup or doesn't use crypto at all.
- The corridor is already very cheap. India via Remitly cost about $0.56 on $1,000 on Oct 27.
- The recipient's country taxes or restricts crypto sales (for example, India withholds 1% TDS on crypto transfers).
- You're not on an eligible Galaxy device or not in the U.S.
Hidden costs to watch
- Exchange-rate markup: "no fee" services often earn their margin inside the rate.
- Recipient cash-out: USDC sent wallet-to-wallet is free from Samsung, but the recipient's exchange charges to convert it to local currency (see table above).
- Wrong network: Sui and Solana addresses look different, and exchanges only credit supported networks.
- U.S. remittance tax: since January 1, 2026, a 1% federal excise tax applies to remittances paid in cash, money order or cashier's check. Transfers funded from a bank account or U.S. card are exempt.
- Promotional rates: some apps show better rates on your first transfer only.
FAQ
Does Samsung charge a fee to send USDC?
Not for transfers to external crypto wallets. Recipient wallet providers or exchanges may charge their own fees. Bank account payouts in local currency do carry fees, shown in the app before you confirm.
Should I send on Solana or Sui?
Use the network your recipient's wallet or exchange supports. As of October 27, 2026, Coins.ph, PDAX and Bitso list USDC on Solana but not on Sui. Self-custody Sui wallets such as Slush accept USDC on Sui, where transfers are gasless.
Do I need SUI or SOL tokens to send?
No. Samsung Wallet supports USDC only at launch and does not support the SUI token. Network costs are handled for you; on Sui, USDC transfers are gasless.
Which countries can receive bank payouts?
More than 60 countries. The list is shown in the app. Transfers to sanctioned jurisdictions are prohibited.
Is my USDC safe in Samsung Wallet?
USDC is held by Bastion with Coinbase as sub-custodian. Transfers require biometric authentication on your registered device. USDC is a stablecoin, not a bank deposit, and is not FDIC insured.
Can I pay in stores with USDC?
Not yet. Samsung says future features may include paying online or in store with stablecoins.
